Dr. Almut Kirchner, physicist, is an expert for climate protection, rational energy use and renewable energy. She has been head of the division Energy and Climate Protection at Prognos AG since 2003. Her work focuses on model-based, long-term forecasts and on comprehensive scenarios for energy systems. Key questions in her work concern the effects of energy production and consumption on the environment, energy policy and energy security as well as practical steps toward promoting climate protection.

On Monday, 27 May 2013, the lecture series «consenec impuls» welcomed guest speaker Almut Kirchner, physicist and project leader of the much-discussed study «Energy Perspectives for Switzerland up to 2050». The large audience was an apt reflection of the topic’s significance.
